Good news — Flash Radio shares this positive update with you. The 5th edition of the National Tunisian Book Fair (FNLT), organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, took place from October 23 to November 1, 2026, at the Chedly Klibi Cultural City, attracting a wide audience of readers, bibliophiles, and book professionals. There were also many parents accompanied by their children, coming to find more books to fill their family libraries.
The organizing committee, chaired by Dr. Taoufik Grira, Director General of the Tunis Translation Institute, crafted a rich program for this edition, themed 'Read... Life Will Be Sunny.' On the first day of the book fair, the list of winners of the poetry, short story, fairy tale, and scientific and educational book awards for children was announced, each prize valued at 10,000 dinars. This edition gathered 66 publishing houses offering over 6,000 titles, with a special 'Publisher's Day' reserved for them, during which a special discount of up to 50% was offered to the public.
To encourage children, students in primary and preparatory education, to read and become interested in books regardless of their content—literary, scientific, artistic, or general cultural—the organizing committee launched a daily excursion program, with five excursions per day from different regions of the country, plus two more from the Nabeul governorate, chosen as the host governorate for this session. Primary school students from different regions were invited to share experiences and discuss a topic drawn from a fairy tale or a real-life situation. The aim was to popularize socio-cultural concepts and civilizational notions. There were also performances for the children.
