Good news — Flash Radio shares this positive update with you The 10th edition of the Testour Grenade Festival, held from October 27 to November 1, 2026, brought together over 250 artisans and animated the agricultural market of this northern-western Tunisian city. Six days of festivities marked the celebration of this iconic fruit, featuring intense cultural and commercial activities. Mouna Arfaoui, director of the organizing association, mentioned one million visitors, a figure she may consider possibly exaggerated.
At the heart of the activities, direct sales points for grenades allowed producers to get closer to consumers, while seminars highlighted the specificities of this agricultural production. The goal is now to add an international dimension to the festival to boost tourism in this historic city, founded in the Middle Ages by the Andalusian Moriscos expelled from Spain. Tunisia produces 98,000 tonnes of grenades in 2026, a 8% increase compared to 2025, with two main regions: Gabès (Gapsi AOC variety) and Testour (Ecocert certifications). This festival embodies the harmony between tradition and modernity, promoting high-quality agricultural production. Testour, a historical hub of the region, positions itself as a meeting place between the past and the future, thanks to its expertise and organic labels. The event remains an economic and cultural lever for the region, highlighting Tunisian agricultural wealth.
