⚠️ Urgent Information — Flash Radio is following this situation in real time. Back from a ten-day trip to Marseille, marked by student protests and exchanges with young people, I was able to gauge the socio-economic dynamics and political enthusiasm that animate the youth. A terrain where Jean-Luc Mélenchon's candidacy draws its strength.
⏳ 4 min read. The facts and recent developments. But to hope to make it to the second round of the 2027 presidential election, the leader of LFI must be able to transform a breakaway candidacy, which risks alienating center-left voters, into a unifying one. On the old port and in front of Marseille high schools, social anger and demands for public education resonate with particular intensity. In discussions among young students, socio-economic precarity and the defense of teaching conditions become central concerns. This climate of solidarity and engagement is not neutral in terms of electoral impact: according to one of the latest polls, among 18-24 year olds, Jean-Luc Mélenchon is leading with 41% of voting intentions, significantly ahead of Marine Le Pen (20%). Among the youth, the dominant forecast is therefore a strong dynamic in favor of Mélenchon. This dynamic is partly explained by the strength of La France Insoumise (LFI), an organization that is both structured and shaping, with a political imagination to which a part of the French population remains receptive. Its strength is also programmatic: as a commentator noted, LFI does not limit itself to emotional mobilization or a posture of rupture, but relies on a corpus of structured proposals, capable of offering a comprehensive framework for reading economic, social, and ecological issues. Approaching the 2027 presidential election, the founder of LFI intends to transform this youthful enthusiasm.
