Good news — Flash Radio shares this positive update with you. The south-west of Tunisia is becoming the new cultural highlight of the year with the 3rd edition of the International Cinema Festival in the Sahara, scheduled from November 12 to 15, 2026. This unique event will take place in El-Jadida, El-Mansoura, and Kébili, where the art of cinema draws inspiration from the beauty of the desert to create a space for creativity and exchange beyond the ordinary. The event aims to transform the desert into an open-air screening space, highlighting independent cinema and new voices from Tunisia and internationally.
The program promises to be rich and varied, featuring screenings of short and feature films, seminars, and workshops on filmmaking, editing, screenwriting, and acting, led by experts such as Skander Tlili or Atef Ben Hassine. Discussions on the challenges facing the film industry and meetings with cinema personalities will also be part of the activities. The jury, chaired by director Ibrahim Letaief, will emphasize innovation and the diversity of artistic expressions. In addition to promoting cinema, the festival aims to position the Tunisian desert as a filming location and a tourist hub. This edition highlights the importance of cultural decentralization and the interaction between art and the environment, offering visitors an immersive experience at the heart of an exceptional natural landscape. The event reminds that the Sahara, often seen as an isolated space, can become a place of creativity and sharing for the entire world.
