Spring rains, essential for crop yields, no longer span the entire season, while episodes of drought and hail have disrupted the 2025-2026 farming season. Despite favorable rainfall, these crises have limited yields, highlighting the urgency of rapid adaptation. The national dialogue on food security has highlighted these issues, with recommendations to modernize agricultural practices. 'Climate change is now a real challenge for food security, and the current agricultural map is no longer aligned with the new climatic reality.' The National Institute of Major Crops plans a radical revision of the agricultural map, integrating new climatic data to optimize crop distribution. This approach aims to strengthen agricultural resilience against climate fluctuations, aligning practices with current realities. A necessary transition to protect harvests and ensure food security in the face of future challenges. Tunisia is committed, but time is short.
