⚠️ Urgent — Flash Radio is following this situation in real time. The 5th International One Health Conference opened on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, in Sousse, central-eastern Tunisia, and will run until October 30. Approximately 200 participants from 17 countries, including Tunisia, Italy, the United States, France, Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Algeria, Uganda, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, and South Africa, will attend in person and remotely. Researchers, academics, healthcare professionals, environmental experts, and civil society representatives will address topics such as the consequences of biodiversity loss, pollution, and climate change on human health. The conference, themed 'From Environmental Crises to Integral Ecology,' is jointly organized by the Universities of Sousse and Monastir under the auspices of the Ministries of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Health. The program focuses on the public health impacts of biodiversity loss, pollution, and climate change, with particular emphasis on the interactions between environmental pollutants and the emergence of new diseases. A session is also dedicated to the international research project CoSTA — conducted in collaboration with the Italian Universities of Palermo and Messina — which focuses on pollutants and the associated pathologies. Among the results announced at the conference was the creation of the One Health World Association, with its official headquarters established in Italy. The presidency was entrusted to Italian professor Margheri.
