Watch Together: Watch YouTube Together on Discord

To watch a YouTube video at the same time as your friends on Discord, the official option is Watch Together. It syncs a YouTube video queue within Discord. This is not a bot joining the channel to play a track. For Spotify, Discord has a separate feature, Listen Along. To start Watch Together on Discord, join a voice channel in your server, or start a voice call with your friends. Open the Activities menu, represented by the rocket icon near the share and video commands. Choose Watch Together and join the activity. Search for a YouTube video within the activity, or paste its link into the designated bar. Add videos to the queue. Playback starts and syncs for everyone participating in the activity. Host, video queue, and ads According to the control mode offered in the activity, the host or participants can add videos to the queue. Watch Together uses the integrated YouTube player within the activity. Discord notes that it is not possible to connect to a YouTube account from this activity: a YouTube Premium subscription therefore does not guarantee the absence of ads in Watch Together. If the video sound isn't playing, first check your system's audio output: Watch Together uses the system's audio device, which may be different from the output selected in Discord. Is a YouTube Discord bot needed? No, to watch together with Watch Together: it is an integrated activity within Discord. A shared YouTube link in the chat remains a simple option, but each person then opens the video on their own side, and synchronization is not automatic.
