⚠️ Urgent — Flash Radio is following this situation in real time. The Office of Merchant Marine and Ports (OMMP) has launched a call for tenders for the dredging works of Zarzis Port, in the governorate of Médecine, in northeastern Tunisia. The call was launched on September 22 and submissions are due by November 5.
The call for tenders is directed at companies specialized in dredging works, marine engineering, bathymetric surveys, and sediment management. These works are part of the maintenance activities for port infrastructure, essential for ensuring navigability conditions and the proper functioning of the port.
Zarzis Port is a strategic maritime infrastructure located in southeastern Tunisia, oriented towards international trade, fishing, and passenger transport. It is the main economic lung of southern Tunisia. It is adjacent to the Zarzis Economic Activities Park (free zone) and handles significant volumes of cargo, including the export of local products such as extra-pure sea salt and crude oil extracted in the region; and the import of fuels and various goods to supply the southern part of the country.
